When the Clocks Change So Should the Batteries in Your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm 2025

On November 2, 2025, clocks will fall back one hour at 2am. With the time change, the Uxbridge Fire Department recommends that residents not only change their clocks, but also their batteries in all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

For your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to work efficiently the batteries must be replaced for new ones at least once a year. Changing your batteries during the time change is an easy way to remember and stay on track of when you last changed your batteries.

UXBRIDGE — The Ontario government is investing $983,894 to help renew and rehabilitate critical infrastructure in Township of Uxbridge. The funding will be delivered through the 2026 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) as part of the government’s more than $200 billion capital plan to protect Ontario by building key public infrastructure that will strengthen the economy and keep workers on the job in the face of tariffs and economic uncertainty.

Public Encouraged to Attend Council’s Budget Review Meeting

The Township of Uxbridge Council continues to work on the 2026/2027 Municipal Budget and will be hosting a budget review meeting. Budget negotiations are open to the public and community members are encouraged to attend.

The budget review meeting will be taking place on Tuesday, November 18th from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid format; those wishing to attend may do so virtually via online TEAMS meeting or in-person in Council Chambers at Town Hall (51 Toronto St. S.).
