On Jan. 1, 1974, under The Regional Municipality of Durham Act, 1973, Uxbridge Township, Scott Township, and the Town of Uxbridge amalgamated into what is known today as the Corporation of the Township of Uxbridge. The number of construction projects increases as the weather warms up. To protect the safety of workers, other drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, all drivers are reminded to slow down and proceed with caution through construction zones or areas where workers are present.

Drivers are also reminded that speed limits are reduced in construction zones, and fines are doubled when workers are present.
