Trail Sustainability Project Update

The Township of Uxbridge is proud to announce the ongoing success of its Trail Sustainability Project, funded by the Parking Permit Program, and in partnership with the Region of Durham and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA).
The paid parking initiative generated approximately $87,000 in revenue in 2024 from out-of-town visitors. This has been reinvested into the trails in Uxbridge, including infrastructure repairs, the installation of new equipment, and ongoing trail upkeep.

Weight restriction season on Regional roads begins March 1

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham and local area municipalities restrict the operation of motor vehicles on designated roads during the spring weight restriction season, as per the Highway Traffic Act and Regional By-law 26-2018. This affects vehicles that are heavier than 5,000 kilograms or five tonnes per axle.
When: March 1 to April 30. The final day may be adjusted following periodic reviews of road and weather conditions at the end of weight restriction season.

Township Lifts Significant Weather Event Advisory

Improved weather conditions have aided Township Road maintenance crews as they work to clear roads, sidewalks and parking lots. As a result, the Township is lifting the advisory of a Significant Weather Event that was declared on February 12th.
Drivers and pedestrians are still urged to be cautious as there are localized accumulations of melt water and the potential for icy conditions. Please drive according to the road conditions.

Township Extends Significant Weather Event Due to High Winds and Snow Accumulation – Feb. 18th, 2025

Based on high winds and snow accumulation, the Township wishes to advise residents that roads may be snow covered and slippery. Residents are asked to drive according to the weather conditions.
Roads, sidewalks and parking lots will be cleared as soon as crews are able to address them.
