On May 1, 2024, Ward 5 Councillor Todd Snooks will assume the role of Deputy Mayor, a position he will hold until February 28, 2025.  I want to thank Ward 4 Councillor Willie Popp for serving as Deputy Mayor over the last 4.5 years (November 2019 and again November 2022).

Proceed with caution through construction zones

The number of construction projects increases as the weather warms up. To protect the safety of workers, other drivers, pedestrians and cyclists, all drivers are reminded to slow down and proceed with caution through construction zones or areas where workers are present.

Drivers are also reminded that speed limits are reduced in construction zones, and fines are doubled when workers are present.

Street Sweeping Set to Commence

The Township is preparing to commence annual street sweeping, which is expected to take 6-8 weeks, weather permitting. During this time, please try to avoid on-street parking.

Durham Region has moved from the customer self-assessment (TeleRead) water meter card program to full water meter readings by Meter Readers. This eliminates the need for customers to provide readings and reduced the number of estimated bills.
