Townships of Uxbridge and Scugog Councils approve the next phase for the new Animal Shelter

The Townships of Uxbridge and Scugog are pleased to announce they are moving forward to the next phase for the new animal shelter, including construction drawings to meet building permit requirements and finalizing the project cost. Both Uxbridge and Scugog Councils approved the report detailing the recommended scope, approximate cost, and funding during their respective Council Meetings on March 24, 2025.

Township Reminds Residents of Precautions as Potential Avian Flu Season Approaches

As geese and migratory birds begin to return to the community, the Township of Uxbridge reminds residents of general precautions ahead of a possible upcoming avian flu season. At this time, there have been no confirmed cases of avian influenza (H5N1), also known as bird flu, in the community, in 2025.

Although there is no cause for concern, the Township encourages residents to be proactive and follow basic precautions to help prevent the potential spread of avian flu as the season progresses.
