Township Lifts Significant Weather Event Advisory, Mar. 10th, 2025

Improved weather conditions have aided Township Road maintenance crews as they work to clear roads, sidewalks and parking lots. As a result, the Township is lifting the advisory of a Significant Weather Event that was declared on March 6th, 2025.

Drivers and pedestrians are still urged to be cautious as there are localized accumulations of melt water and the potential for icy conditions. Please drive according to the road conditions. ​

Free tax filing help available to residents living with low income

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region residents who experience economic hardship, unemployment, or who have no income, can get help with filing their taxes for free. Through tax filing, eligible residents can access benefits and credits that would put money in their pockets and help cover basic needs. There are more than 40 benefits and credits in Ontario; many can only be accessed when you file your taxes.

Township Extends Significant Weather Event Due to Snow Accumulation and High Winds

Due to forecasted snowfall and high winds creating the potential for white-out conditions, the Township wishes to advise residents that roads may be snow covered and slippery. Residents are asked to drive according to the weather conditions.
