THE DOWNTOWN PARKING STUDY

Building upon recommendations from the Township’s Downtown Revitalization Strategic Plan & Action Plan, the Township of Uxbridge has retained LEA Consulting Ltd. (LEA) to undertake a comprehensive Parking Strategy study to assess the parking needs in the downtown area. The purpose of this Study is to develop a parking policy framework and by-law regulations. Strategies provided in the Parking Study will align with the vision for the Downtown Revitalization through providing efficient, convenient, and accessible parking that will meet the existing and future needs of Downtown Uxbridge’s residents, business owners, and visitors.

THE PROCESS

The study has been conducted in three phases. Phase 1 of the Study involved reviewing the existing parking conditions in Downtown Uxbridge. Phase 2 involved forecasting future parking demand over the short-, medium-, and long-term horizons. Phase 3 included a review of parking governance and funding options to recommend amendments to existing policies, by-laws, standards and regulations related to the provision of on- and off-street parking. Upon completion of the study, a Parking Strategy Study Report will be prepared to summarize the study findings and recommendations.
