The Township of Uxbridge has been actively investing in the actions from the Downtown Revitalization Strategic Plan & Action Plan over the past three years.  The culvert project removed a section of Brock Street West from the floodplain which now allows for re-development.  With input from over 1,500 residents and visitors, the Township created a vision that can only be fulfilled with investment in key downtown properties.

Today, June 10th, the following motion was moved by Councillor Willie Popp, seconded by Regional Councillor Bruce Garrod, and unanimously approved by Council:

“Instruct the solicitor to report back to Council with respect to what next steps are required to expropriate 43, 45, 47 Brock Street West.”

This action enables Council to weigh all options as discussions with the property owners continue. Moving the vision for Downtown Revitalization forward is a very high priority for Council. Further information will be provided as next steps progress.
