Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter to Host Dog Adoption Day April 26th

The Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter, in partnership with Grassroots K9 Georgina, is hosting a by-appointment dog adoption day event on April 26^th from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Uxbridge-Scugog Animal Shelter (1360 Reach St., Port Perry, ON).

The purpose of this event is to help the shelter’s less socialized dogs find their ideal homes. Attendees must be serious, well-informed adopters who are ready for the lifelong commitment of dog ownership. Grassroots K9 Georgina will offer brief workshops and consultations, providing valuable insights into dog behaviour, training, and preparing for life with a new companion. Their trainers and staff will be available throughout the day to answer questions, offer advice, and support adopters in navigating the adoption process.

Registration is required for this event, and drop-ins will not be accepted. A brief pre-event application is also necessary to ensure that participants meet the basic adoption criteria and are prepared for the responsibilities of dog ownership.
