Council adopts the new 2024 to 2029 Energy Conservation Demand Management Plan...
In 2018, Ontario Regulation 397/11 was revised to Ontario Regulation 507/18 – the Electricity Act, then updated to Ontario Regulation 25/23. Municipalities are required to report their goals and objectives for conserving and reducing their energy consumption while managing their future demand for energy. Municipalities are also required to develop and implement an Energy Conservation Demand Management (CDM) Plan, to be reviewed and updated every five (5) years. The Previous Township of Uxbridge Energy Conservation Demand Management Plan covered 2019 to 2023. The new Conservation Demand Management Plan outlines key initiatives implemented, identifies future plans for energy conservation, and associated reductions in GHG emissions, as well as forecasts current and proposed actions for 2024 to 2029. On June 24, 2024 Council of the Corporation of the Township of Uxbridge adopted the new 2024 to 2029 Energy Conservation Demand Management Plan.
