The Township of Uxbridge’s 2025/2026 Operating Budget and 10-Year Capital Investment Plan was presented during the final budget meeting on Nov. 28, 2024, following an extensive review process. The final budget was approved by Council on Dec. 2, 2024, reflecting a strategic focus on financial sustainability and proactive planning.

This year, the Township introduced an innovative approach to budgeting, emphasizing early discussions and approvals. This shift enables bids and tenders to be issued ahead of the market, leading to more competitive contracts and ensuring the timely execution of capital projects.

The 2025 budget includes operating expenditures of $22.9 million and capital expenditures of $12.2 million, with $18.8 million funded through property taxes. This results in a local property tax increase of 2.41% for operational needs and 2.98% for capital infrastructure investment. Uxbridge residents will face an estimated total tax levy increase of 4.40%, with the Uxbridge portion accounting for 1.51%.

The Township of Uxbridge remains dedicated to safeguarding its fiscal stability while maintaining sustainable service levels for residents. The 2025 budget emphasizes enhancing the state of good repair for critical infrastructure, including roads, bridges, culverts, and municipal buildings.

This budget reflects fostering an entrepreneurial approach to boost non-tax revenue streams, ensuring long-term financial resilience and reduced reliance on property taxes.
