Uxbridge Fire Hall Receives Energy Performance Award

The Township of Uxbridge Fire Hall has been recognized for its energy performance, ranking third among the Best Energy Performing Fire Stations in the Durham Greener Buildings (DGB) Program.

As part of the Township's participation in the program, the 2023 weather-normalized Energy Use Intensity (EUI) data for the Fire Hall was submitted to the DBG Program for assessment of its energy performance. To ensure accurate and fair comparisons, buildings were categorized by property type and greenhouse gas emissions thresholds. From this analysis, the Uxbridge Fire Hall emerged as a top performer, earning third place among all participating fire stations with emissions below 40 MT CO2e.

The Township has also been awarded the Earliest Data Submission Award for its timely and thorough participation in the program.

The Township received both awards at the Durham Greener Buildings Evening of Recognition on November 13^th, 2024. The Township is proud to be acknowledged for its accomplishments and remains committed to participating in initiatives that support climate targets and greenhouse gas reduction.
