On-Site sewage systems

The Township of Uxbridge has retained the services of the Region Of Durham Health Department to issue permits and inspect septic systems. Visit Durham Region for the permit application to install, replace or repair a septic system.

Maintenance inspections

Durham Region runs a Maintenance Inspection Program as part of the Lake Simcoe Protection Plan. The inspections help to make sure that septic systems are running and maintained properly.

If your private on-site septic system is within a 100 m strip of land located along rivers, streams, lakes or ponds in the Lake Simcoe watershed and was installed before January 1, 2016, you will be contacted regarding these mandatory inspections.

The inspection is visual and does not require entry into your home nor any part of your septic system to be dug up. The inspector may require a second inspection if there are any signs that the system is not working properly.
